Draymond Green thinks he is one of the best passers in the NBA

Throughout the years, Draymond Green established himself as one of the most versatile players in the NBA. He can do it all, both on offense and defense, and a lot of the things he does that have a positive impact on the Warriors sometimes can’t be seen on a stat sheet. One thing that is evidently seen is the number of assists he is dishing out to his teammates, establishing himself as one of the best passers in the game. He is currently fourth in the NBA with 8.8 assists per game, only behind Russell Westbrook, Trae Young, and Luka Doncic.

In a recent interview, Draymond talked about his ability to get his teammates in the right position to score. He even admits he didn’t start the season off in the way he wanted to in terms of getting his teammates involved properly, but that changed relatively quickly.

That is pretty good since I started the season pretty low. I think I started the season playing like trash getting guys the ball. That is pretty good, that’s cool, but we’ll see what happens.

Draymond Green

Green proclaimed he is definitely one of the best passers in the NBA right now, and the numbers back up his statement. He even recently said he is one of the best defenders in NBA history, which caused a lot of backlashes, but when it comes to passing, Draymond is truly an elite floor general that will always find his teammates in the best position to score.

Even though his proclamation may sound a bit egoistic, Green is actually very humble and is honored to be among the best in the league in assists. He recognizes the greatness of other players who are leading the league in assists and for him to be a part of that conversation means a lot.

It doesn’t shook me because I think I’m one of the best passers in the NBA. It doesn’t necessarily shock me in saying that and to be up there with all the point guards is incredibly and Joker because he passes better than most point guards and better than pretty much anybody that plays the game of basketball. To be up there with those guys means a lot. To be at the top of something in this league is always great. There are so many great players in this league so it definitely means something. I think I can pass with those guys, I always felt like that. I think my passing is one of the best things I bring to this game. I believe in my passing.

Draymond Green

The Warriors are still fighting to make the playoffs, and a healthy and productive Draymond Green is an essential part of their potential success. It definitely helps to have Steph Curry play in the same way he’s been playing lately, but if you watched the Warriors games, you can’t deny the impact Green has on that team and helping Curry get those free looks. He is incredibly involved in every play the team runs and is extremely vocal all the time, especially on defense. He is a true floor general that understands how important it is to get his teammates involved and put them in the position to be successful.
