Dikembe Mutombo saves a young boys life by paying for his surgery

Dikembe Mutombo who is also known as “Mount Mutombo” is definitely one of those players who is larger than life. Despite having a Hall of Fame career and being one of the most prominent defensive players of all time, Dikembe never forgot where he comes from and what he needs to do to improve his community.

After his illustrious career, Dikembe spends a lot of times helping the ones in need, especially young kids from Africa and his home country Congo.

This time wasn’t any different with Mutombo helping an eight-year-old boy Mutadi from Congo so he can undergo a surgery to remove a large tumor that was spreading across his face. Dikembe met the young boy a couple of months in a hospital which he built in Congo. It didn’t take long for Dikembe to help the young boy.

“I was touched by what he’s going through as a young boy who’s 8 years old. Not going to school. The way he’s been pushed away by the society,” Mutombo told us … “His mom has to keep him in the bedroom every day because people are talking bad about him.”

As someone who is also a father to six kids, Mutombo said it must difficult for a father to see what his son is going through.

“Very difficult as a father to see a child who is 8 years old, who is born like all of us, but has not gotten opportunities,” Mutombo said.

Dr.Osborne from Beverly Hills will perform the surgery on Mutadi and Dave Dell who is a member of the Osborne Head and Neck Foundation said Mutombo did his best in order to give Mutadi a proper treatment.

“He is suffering from a life-threatening illness. We are here to help this little boy and Mr. Mutombo’s foundation save this little boy’s life.”

Hopefully, the surgery goes well so Mutadi can have a safe and normal life afterward. Mutombo, on the other hand, has once again shown he is truly a real mountain of a person and a good human being.
