Dennis Rodman at 60 “A lot of people thought I would be dead at 40, 45”

Dennis Rodman’s life after playing basketball is even more colorful than when he was still playing, as impossible as it may sound. Rodman had gone through a lot, been through a lot, and experienced a lot. Reaching 60 years was almost unimaginable for him, and Rodman’s theory is that he is alive because his life has a higher purpose.

It seems that the older Rodman got, the more stability he got at life in general. The monster rebounder even admitted being surprised how things turned out for the better, given his lifestyle and poor choices.

“I’m surprised I’m still here because a lot of people thought I would be dead at 40, 45, 50, 55. I turned 60 and I’m like, wow, I’m still here. Someone has a hand on my shoulder saying you have a lot left to fulfill something for people around the world.”

Dennis Rodman,

A lot of players serve as the game’s ambassadors upon retirement. Rodman’s ambassadorial duties took him down a slightly different road – the one to North Korea. He had been tapped as an unofficial ambassador to North Korea and was seen enjoying the company of Kim Jong Un. You really cannot expect anything regular or ordinary from Dennis Rodman.

He busies himself doing promotions in South Florida, and it looks like he has turned over a new leaf. Rodman is running a business while keeping himself in shape. The power forward prided himself as a naturally gifted athlete who put his body through a lot off the court but could still perform at the highest level when it was game time. Now at 60 years old, the 14-year-veteran seems to value the state of his body a lot more.

The Trenton, New Jersey native’s exploits when he was a lot younger had been properly documented. He sported different hair colors and styles, wore make-up and skirts, and once claimed he married himself – as in Dennis Rodman got married to Dennis Rodman.

In terms of partying and personal relationships, Dennis lived his life to the fullest. He had been romantically linked to Madonna, Carmen Electra, and Vivica Fox, to name a few. Tales of his partying days and with games the next days are the stuff of legends. Former teammate Toni Kukoč once partied with him, and it’s safe to say he never did it again.

“It’s a special type of story, and I couldn’t keep up with him. I partied only once with him because, after that, you need a 7 to 10 days recovery period afterward.”

It’s good to know Dennis transformed and is being grateful and sober at his age. Not everyone can live the way he lived and walk away happy and content after finding a new purpose. Fans are eager to see what’s next for the former Bulls player. We’re happy he’s still with us.
