Danny Green explains why he’s excited about the opportunity to play alongside Davis and LeBron next season

Danny Green has been a very nice, underrated addition by the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. After winning a championship with the Toronto Raptors, 32-year-old Green is still in his prime and more than capable to provide the Lakers solid defense and great 3-point shooting on a nightly basis. He will thrive in a system where a lot of times opposing teams will double-team Davis and LeBron, which will leave more space for Green to have more open looks at the basket.

In an interview today for the show The Jump, Green expressed his satisfaction playing alongside LeBron and Davis on the same team and he is not worried to they will develop chemistry as the season progresses. Green averaged a career-high 45% 3-point field percentage last season and creating more space for him on the court, can potentially make him a very dangerous weapon for the Lakers.

“I think I’m going to fit perfectly fine alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis. Those guys are very good. They’re superstars at attacking and getting to the basket and pretty much doing everything. A lot of teams try to double-team them, and if you have floor space, it’s harder to double-team, so my job is really to play defense, space the floor and make it easier for them to operate one-on-one.”

Some of Green’s other assets that he brings to the table is experience and knowledge to play good defense which will be essential for the Lakers if they want to be competitive in the western conference. Adding Green to their roster was definitely an underrated singing that might pay off big time for the Lakers.
