For those of you who didn’t know, Karl Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell are best of friends. The two have been super close since the time they squared off against each other back in high school. Their bond continued into the NBA.
Their bromance is so intense that KAT once went on record saying:
“D’Angelo is one of the best human beings on this planet, a guy I would let my daughter date if I had one.”
When the time came for them to be drafted into the NBA, they both decided to sign with the same sports agency. The two lived together throughout pre-draft workouts and exchanged tips regarding every team to help one another to leave a better impression.
Russell got traded to Minnesota yesterday, and it is safe to say he’s ecstatic about joining his best friend and becoming a Timberwolf.
We talked about it, we joked about it, we laughed about it in the summertime. But for it to come true like this, it’s a dream come true. This is crazy to me, to wake up and see the situation that I’m in and feel the love of somebody wanting me to be here.
The energy is there; the chemistry is there, the talent is there. Many trade rumors are mentioning Minnesota trading for Devin Booker. If the Timberwolves front office manages to add another piece, of Booker’s caliber, to the puzzle — Minnesota will become a force to be reckoned with.
