DAME AND CJ OWN THE CLIPPERS “Pat Bev, I guess I should extend this Cancun invite”

DAME AND CJ OWN THE CLIPPERS “Pat Bev, I guess I should extend this Cancun invite”

It’s already being described as one of the greatest choke jobs in playoffs history. The Clippers were 3-1 in the series, had double-digit leads in all elimination games, and were the favorite to win Game 7. With this loss, the Clippers extended their Conference Finals drought to 50 years, leading all teams across all four major American sports. Here’s their box score.

The main reason everyone is having the ultimate schadenfreude moment is the fact the Clippers carried themselves with a whole lot of arrogance the entire year. As if they believed a Finals appearance is a given, and they just need to go through the motions. Yet, the only guy with any notable playoff success in his career is Kawhi Leonard.

Two guys who’ll never hear the end of this are Patrick Beverly and Paul George. Beverly is as confrontational and loud as they get, with little to show. Paul George is more often Pandemic P than Playoff P (1-9 in elimination games); in the playoffs, the smart move is to bet the under on him. Both of them talked a lot towards the Blazers, and Dame Lillard dealt with that in his exit interview.

“Patrick Beverley, I sent him home before. Paul George just got sent home by me last year… I’m not offended by it. It should tell you how much it hurt them.”

Damian Lilard

Shortly after that, Paul George responded on social media, and Patrick Beverly joined in. This is the arrogance part everyone is talking about today.

You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out what happened last night. We already covered NBA twitter reacting to the Clippers meltdown, but we had to save the best for last. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum had a blast after last night’s game. Enjoy.
