If you were asked about the best starting five in NBA history, you would probably have an answer on the top of your head. Some names are often brought up more than the others; however, it’s always exciting when people weigh into this debate. It’s fascinating when some NBA players share their all-time favorite players, and Charles Barkley openly talked about his top five in NBA history.
During his appearance on Inside the NBA show, Barkley shared his thoughts about the players he would start and thinks are the top five NBA players of all-time.
“It’s Michael, Oscar Robertson, Bill Russel, Wilt Chamberlain, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I got Kobe six and LeBron at seven. It’s all subjective. If somebody is different, he will have a different opinion on this.“Charles Barkley, via NBA on TNT
Sir Charles also talked about LeBron and how he admires what LeBron achieved so far in his career.
I’m never gonna say a bad thing about LeBron James. He is one of the greatest I’ve ever seen. But all this stuff is talk radio to me.”Charles Barkley, via NBA on TNT
Barkley also mentioned some other names on his top 10 of all-time. Even though these discussions usually don’t go anywhere, it’s great to hear how other NBA players perceive greatness in each other and that there is a lot of mutual respect between them.
