It’s that time of the year again! We are a month away from the start of the 20/21 NBA postseason, and Charles Barkley provided us with another iteration of his Playoff predictions. As expected, they’re as bold as it gets.
During the halftime show of the Eastern Conference matchup between the 76ers and the Bucks – Milwaukee ended up winning the game 124-117 – Chuck started by picking the team he thinks will come out of the East. He went with the 3rd seeded Milwaukee, emphasizing their mid-season additions as difference makers.
I think the Bucks gonna finish with the no.1 record in the east. Not only that, I think they’re going to finish with the No. 1 record in the East. I truly believe that. I think the addition of Jrue Holiday, PJ Tucker, I think they’re better prepared for the Playoffs. I think Milwaukee’s going to win the East.Charles Barkley, NBA on TNT
Barkley did the same for the Western Conference, giving credit to one team everyone refuses to take seriously despite having the best record in the entire association. Most people see them as the ’15 Atlanta Hawks, but according to Chuck, there’s more to this year’s Utah Jazz. That’s why he picked them to go all the way.
We have given the Jazz no respect. They’ve got the best record for the last six months in the NBA. I think the Utah Jazz can win the championship. They got the Coach of the Year, they got two All-Stars, they got the Sixth Man of the Year; remember, last year they lost because Bogdanović didn’t play in the Playoffs. They would’ve beaten Denver last year if Bogdanović had played.Charles Barkley, NBA on TNT
He capped it off with his prediction for the Trail Blazers — the team he’s been projecting would make a deep postseason run for the last couple of years. And just like last year, when he picked Portland to beat the Lakers in the first round, Barkley did it again, saying the Purple and Gold can’t beat the Blazers in a potential Playoff series, even with a healthy LeBron James on the roster.
Judging by Chuck’s last year’s postseason predictions, all we can say is this: the Bucks won’t win the East, the Jazz won’t win the title, and the Lakers won’t lose to Portland if they meet in the Playoffs. Because one thing’s for sure; if Chuck says something will happen, it’s probably not going to happen. And there’s a years-long pattern of him being wrong that proves it.
