Charles Barkley comments on the Zion Williamson situation: “I get so mad when people act like money is the only thing that matters in the world.”

The injury that Zion Williamson suffered due to his shoes exploding pretty much at the very start of one of the most expected NCAA games caused major concerns around the basketball community. Even though Zion’s injury is not so bad as it initially looked and it’s reported he is day-to-day,  many experts and players raised various questions that need to be asked.

The first one to take a hit was Nike, whose shoes Zion was wearing and it’s not the first time their shoes pretty much exploded during games. Another concern that was raised was the money NCAA is making on these young athletes, while they are not being paid at all except for getting free tuition which is definitely not a bad thing, but they are literally making millions for their colleges.

During the show “Inside The NBA” Charles Barkley shared his views on the whole story surrounding Zion and why he should play this season despite some comments that suggest Zion should seat out the rest of the year simply because it’s already known he will be the top pick in the draft.

Barkley believes money is not everything and if Zion is a basketball player than that is what he should do despite all the comments of resting for the rest of the year.

I trust Nike shoes and with that being said, when did we ever get to the point where all people care is about money. Shaq played college basketball for three years, Kenny played for four, I played for three, Michael Jordan played for three, Tim Duncan played for four, David Robinson played for four. Some of the greatest players ever, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson. Where did we get to the point where you got clowns on television say don’t play. That’s what you do Ernie, that is what we do, we play basketball. I don’t want to see anybody gets hurt, because this kid looks like he is going to be a fantastic basketball player.  But I get so mad when people act like money is the only thing that matters in the world. Ohh dude, you are going to the NBA,  don’t play. I mean that is ridicolous.
