Carmelo Anthony: “I am a better scorer than LeBron and Curry”

Carmelo Anthony has been one of the most potent scorers of recent NBA history, especially during his Denver and New York days. At some point, he was even at top 5 players in the NBA with the capability of scoring at least 30 points on a daily basis.

The defensive side of his game wasn’t so strong which often resulted in Carmelo being a liability, however, he would often make that up by scoring 30 or 40 points a game.

Unfortunately for Carmelo, it seems there isn’t a single NBA team that is interested in his services even though he is still capable of scoring 15-20 points per game, however with a lower efficiency rate than previous seasons. It will be interesting to see if there will a team in the NBA that will gamble on Carmelo and even sign him on veteran minimum.

In a recent interview for The Dan Patrick show, Carmelo compared some of the best scorers of today in Stephen Curry and LeBron James and answered a question if he thinks he is a better scorer then these two. Carmelo loves the way Stephen Curry plays and would start a franchise with him but didn’t want to narrow things down too much.

“I love Stephen Curry, I love his game. I love everything about him. It’s just hard to narrow things down. I don’t want to be put in that situation where I have to narrow 4,5 guys down, I just can’t do that.”

Carmelo also said he believes he is a better scorer than LeBron and Curry simply because as a true competitor, that is the mentality he needs to have in order to be successful.

I believe so. As an athlete, as a competitor, you’re not going to say no.
