Even though no one diminishes Stephen Curry‘s greatness, a few question marks were heading into this season on whether he’ll perform in the same way he did when he was an MVP. You can never really tell if a player can come back from an injury and be equally efficient as he used to be, but it seems Curry is breaking all the barriers so far this season. Many doubted Curry, saying his impact will decrease without his splash brother Klay, but that hasn’t been the case at all.
In a recent podcast with Bill Simmons and Zach Lowe, they discussed some negative comments about Curry at the start of this season. People questioned whether he could run a franchise without having as much firepower as he did in the last 5-6 years, which enabled him to be productive. It seems Bill Simmons was upset at the notion of anybody trying to discredit Curry in any and rightfully so.
Zach Lowe: “This is a big year for Steph Curry because there was a lot of, ‘Can he carry a team?’ “-Bill Simmons: “From idiots. You’re an idiot if you made that point … they were 140-24 in the two seasons before Durant got there. You guys are morons if you said that.”

Curry, in my opinion, is a legitimate MVP candidate when you put things into perspective. When you look at his numbers so far this season, he is averaging 30 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game, shooting 49 percent from the field. The Warriors are currently 7th in a tough western conference looking better as a team every single game going to the season. His impact on the game is astonishing if you watched the Warriors play, and he’s been one of the most consistent superstars this season. If you have the opportunity to watch the Warriors, you will not waste your time if Stephen Curry is playing because there is a high probability you’ll see him do something truly amazing every single game.
