Ben Simmons shares an emotional message on his birthday

Ben Simmons has been one of the most criticized players this entire postseason, and it was all because of his poor individual performance that culminated with the Sixers losing in the second round to the Atlanta Hawks. Many would agree Simmons was completely exposed in this playoffs, and in the series against the Hawks, his impact was almost non-existential. Ever since then, it seems Simmons was off the grid on social media until yesterday when it was his birthday, and he decided to share a post on his Instagram account.

He took the opportunity to reflect back on his experience so far in his career and pointed out he will not give up and do everything he can to come back stronger and better next season. Draymond Green and Danny Green commented on his post expressing their support for Simmons, hoping he can put all those negative things behind him and return with a vengeance.

Simmons has severe problems with shooting, and according to Sidelinesources, one analyst suggested he should do everything in his power to improve, even changing his shooting hand if that could help. Whether that is feasible or not remains to be seen, but there is no question Simmons will need to work on his craft, or it wouldn’t be surprising if we see him out of the league soon.

Sixers will most likely explore his market value this summer, but his stocks are down big time in comparison when they could’ve got James Harden for Simmons. Hopefully, next season will be a big one for his growth as a player because, at the age of 25, it’s time for him to step up as everyone expects him if he wants to be considered a legitimate All-Star.
