Bam Adebayo admits he still talks s**t to Jayson Tatum about his monster block

One of the most memorable and amazing plays from last year’s playoffs in the bubble was Bam Adebayo blocking Jayson Tatum‘s dunk attempt in the clutch finish of the game and sealing the win for the Miami Heat versus the Boston Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. That play and win would prove crucial, as it set the tone for the series in which the Heat made their way to the NBA Finals in 6 games.

That was a big moment for the young Miami Heat big man, as he loves to talk about that play to this day, especially when playing against Jayson Tatum. Bam spoke about the block with his teammate Duncan Robinson on Robinson’s podcast and admitted how he uses that play to troll Tatum till this day:

“I haven’t forgotten about it because I low key still talk s— to J.T. about it. A lot of us in my draft class grew up together. Like grew up playing AAU together, growing up playing against each other so we all know each other. So we all talk s—. I still remember the block, it’s still unreal to me. It felt way faster than it did in actual time. When the block happened, in my mind, it was like ‘Boom!’ and it was over.”

The bubble playoffs would be a real coming-out party for Bam Adebayo, as he proved he is one of the best big men in the NBA, leading the Heat to the Finals alongside Jimmy Butler. This season, Bam has continued to play great, but his Heat has struggled to achieve the same type of success. All the injuries and inconsistency have plagued Miami, but they are still holding the 7th seed with a 28-27 record.

They aren’t on the very top of NBA rankings, but they are for sure a team nobody wants to play against in the playoffs, as their gritty group could catch any team by surprise in a playoff series, just like last year. Bam will be crucial in Heat managing to make some noise, as more plays like the Tatum block would be of good use.
