Anthony Davis believes he’s the best player in the game

Since his second season for the New Orleans Pelicans back in 2013, Anthony Davis has been an absolute force on both sides of the basketball, living up to the hype as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

In only six seasons, Davis has been named to five All-Star teams, three All-NBA teams, three All-Defensive teams, won the 2016-17 All-Star Game MVP award and has led the league in blocks per game three times. Despite all this individual success, however, the Pelicans have struggled to form a decent squad around Davis to compete for championships, through no fault of AD’s.

The superstar power forward has never been one to mince words, and that trend continued Wednesday afternoon. After the Pelicans’ second practice of the season, while speaking at New Orleans’ media day this past week, AD said that he thinks that the Pelicans are going to be in for a stellar year this upcoming season, and backed this up by claiming he’s the best player in the NBA and nobody can tell him otherwise.

You have to love the confidence from Davis, who had another outstanding season in 2017-18. averaging 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Many experts have Davis as a top-five player in the league, having him amongst the names of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, James Harden and more.

One thing is certain, though: Davis is the best big man in the NBA. He can score from the perimeter and post and is arguably the best shot blocker in the game. He is a nightmare on the fast break and has guard-like skills which allow him to create his own shot off the dribble from anywhere on the court.
