Andre Iguodala has been a crucial part of the success Golden State Warriors are having in the last couple of years. Iguodala turned down teams that offered him more money because he saw the potential in the Warriors, and he did the right thing by staying with the team. This resulted in three NBA championships and the award for the finals MVP couple of years back for Andre.
Iguodala displayed true professionalism by coming off the bench and providing the Warriors some solid minutes when they needed him the most and that scenario is once again on display in this year’s playoffs. His contribution to the team sometimes may not show on the stat line, but if you watch the games you will see why Iguodala has been a crucial part of Warriors success making big plays on both ends of the floor.
In a recent interview, the reporters asked Iguodala why he is playing hurt and his response was that it’s because of Stephen Curry and his admiration for his teammate who is considered to be one of the nicest people in the NBA.
“I just like Steph, he is a good dude, a good guy to be around. That is the only reason why I am still playing basketball. I’ve never seen such a good person get some kind of backlash from his peers because they are so jealous of what he has. I’m trying to do whatever it takes to protect his legacy.”
